Aroha Silhouettes’s pieces made from reclaimed vinyl records, but they make such a bold, modern statement.
New uses for old records (continued): iPhone cases.

Here’s another spin on old records:
Turn vintage vinyl record albums into storage racks.
This rack, from RetiredRecords on Etsy, was made from seven LPs: six albums form cubbyholes to hold wine bottles and/or other items; a seventh album is attached to the bottom for support.

DIY project du jour:
Top a side table with an old vinyl record. (An unplayable one, preferably!) For a tutorial, hop over to TheFlourishingAbode.
The table in the photo reminds me of this stool — with an old album for its seat — that Brian spotted in Sweden last year.

Put a new spin on an old vinyl record: Transform it into a clock.
Friend of Unconsumption Tiffany Threadgould — you might remember she created items for our Uncollection — shows us how in this video.
You’ll need an old vinyl record (preferably an unplayable one — why use one that’s still good?!), scrap paper, glue, scissors, and a clock mechanism (perhaps you have one from an unwanted clock?).

Upcycling idea du jour:
Use old/unplayable records as charger plates.
