Happy Halloween and Day of the Dead!
Pictured: “Dead Media,” an installation that repurposes 497 VHS tapes. Created by friend of Unconsumption Noah Scalin (mentioned previously several times here), of the Skull-A-Day project. (photo via SkullADay here)

More art made from salvaged material:
Friend of Unconsumption and Skull-A-Day project founder Noah Scalin (mentioned previously here and here) hipped us to the reclaimed wood artwork of Diederick Kraaijeveld of The Netherlands.
[Thanks, Noah!]
Call Me Waldo by Noah Scalin
Noah Scalin (mentioned previously on Unconsumption here), creator of the Skull-A-Day project, among other things, made this piece out of used electrical outlets and switches — a commission for a theater company in New York City.
“Noah Scalin designed a set of four awards for the Better Housing Coalition (BHC), which builds affordable housing in Richmond. They are entirely made from reclaimed materials and finished with water-based stains and coatings. Each of the four trophies effectively conveyes the spirit of the award.” Junkculture: Reclaimed Trophies
