CycleHangers are upcycled coat hangers made from bike parts, which were designed and made by product design student Oliver Staiano from Nottingham Trent University in the UK. This artful repurposing project could inspire other businesses to see how their iconic objects can be reused in new ways for their own merchandizing and more.
The set of three hangers were created using different parts of a bike. One from part of the wheel, one from the handlebars and the third from the main frame. These were sandblasted and finished with wood to compliment the metal, resulting in “a constructive and unique way to hang up your clothes.” Individually, the products cost £99.97 ($157.47), or you can buy a set of all three for £199.94 ($314.95).
Alternatively, you could try making them for yourself using the step-by-step instructions provided.
