We’ve come a long way since the “tire swing” days of my childhood …
In recent years, scrap tires have been shredded and used as mulch, or as flooring for running tracks and playgrounds. Now here’s an idea that takes the repurposing of tires to a whole new level: Dutch designer AnneMarie van Splunter envisions building a “rubber tree” out of old tires. Pictured is a conceptual design she proposed for a playground for refugee children in Thailand.
Cool, or weird?
